City Centre Neighbourhood Forum Area

We are a voluntary, non-political, organisation of Birmingham City Centre residents.
The full committee is:
Objectives

The main objective of the Neighbourhood Forum is to enhance, or at least maintain, the quality of the area in which we live, by:

  • Discussing and influencing issues affecting the local community.
  • Raising awareness.
  • Informing the public of social developments.
  • Undertaking research for public benefit.
  • Advancing education and doing other such things, that encourage people to show an interest in the area and to bring together residents and others on a regular basis in order to address community issues of common concern or interest.

The Neighbourhood Forum shall:

  • Work within the spirit of its Equal Opportunities Statement and encourage the active participation of all sections of the community.
  • Ensure that issues of concern to the Forum are drawn to the attention of any authority deemed to be appropriate.
Free Public Meetings

We hold occasional public meetings; the next one is on 14th November 2011.

Some of the major changes currently planned or proposed include:
  • Big City plan
  • Gateway (New Street Station redevelopment)
  • High Speed Rail link (HS2)
  • Midland Metro Extension
  • Regal Tower (Broad Street / Sheepcote Street junction)
  • Arena Central development proposed for the end of Broad Street with its 50 storey tower beside the Alpha Tower.
  • Richardson development 212-223 Broad Street (a 40 storey tower)
  • Cumberland House proposal Broad Street
