Library of Birmingham – Report as at 28/03/10

I have split the slideshow of the Library of Birmingham Development into five separate ones covering different views or subjects. This will enable a clearer progression of photos in the slideshows which generally are in date sequence.

I will add further slideshows to reflect changes in viewpoints or subjects as the project enters different phases.
Current slideshows are:

View to:
Centenary Square
Rep Theatre
Civic Centre Towers
Other subjects:
Construction Techniques
Rep Demolition (Workshop extension)

A useful way to keep informed about the plans for the interior of the new Library is the exhibition in the present Central Library building. (It’s in the space near the Information desk just to the right of the entrance.)
A particular feature at the moment is a new architect’s model of the whole building; this arrived only last Friday (April 9).
The exhibition also has expanation panels about the proposed interior arrangement and facilities. You have the opportunity to express your own views, too. Often there are library staff present who you can talk to. If not, there is a log book for you to record your wishes and opinions.
