Carillion reluctantly decided yesterday, based on weather forcasts of strong winds, to postpone this weekend’s erection of “TC2” – the second tower crane to help build the Library of Birmingham. They will let us know when they have a new date. They need to find a day when Centenary Square is not too busy with another event as they need to temporarily use most of the space while they construct the crane. They apologise for any inconvenience that might have been caused to anyone involved, but as they say, safety obviously comes first and ‘we would never “take a chance”’.
We’ll let you know when the build will be in case you want to take a look at how its done!
