We are informed by Simon Dingle, Carillion’s Operations Director of the new Library of Birmingham build, that observations of dust clouds caused by demolition of parts of the Rep Theatre were in fact mist generated to reduce dust and use of water in the process.
Here is what Simon says:
“In truth this is an own goal on our part – as we have actually just deployed a super efficient state of the art dust suppression unit which uses fine spray water/mist in lieu of a large quantity of water from traditional hose pipes! I attach a photo of the unit in use – and the mist could be mistaken for dust.”
Just goes to show that best intentions sometimes are missed!
