The new Library of Birmingham really comes to life in the dark, with superb external illumination that cycles through a series of four colours and the transitions creating a further four.
The wheel creates its own colour show and appears sometimes white, sometimes blue and at other times purple. With a slow shutter speed set on the camera the revolving wheel is captured with a speed blur appearing quite differently depending on its speed.
Please leave a comment after the gallery below on how successful, or otherwise, the scenes created by the BCC are a celebration of Birmingham’s rising identity and attraction to inward investment and hence job creation. Some are very critical of the amount the BCC spent on the Library of Birmingham, but it does seem to be getting world wide (and now Royal – Prince William to visit soon!) interest.
