The observed results of last Fridays traffic diversions indicate a promising and joyous result.
Especially for visitors attending the various events and bar and restaurant visits.
The new Westside BID (recently renamed from Broad Street BID with increased area covered) reports the following:
“In conjunction with the City Council, Barclaycard Arena, and QPark, a measured plan was initiated by the BID to reduce the time of cars leaving car parks, after the John Legend concert at the Barclaycard Arena.
Recently some cars had experienced delays that were upwards of three hours, but due to the BID’s trial scheme, that time was down to just three-quarters of an hour. We are now looking to tweak the plan to further improve on that time.
This is a marvellous example of joint working and intelligent thinking by Westside BID Chairman Sam Lawrence, Director John McDermott and others involved.”
