From today (Sunday 15 November) the carriageway under the old library is closed and permanently so.

There is now a two-way road around the Paradise construction area which is mostly single lane in each direction.

The new road system does not appear to be fully completed which might have contributed to the traffic queues which grew during the hour I was talking photos.
At around 12 noon the traffic was flowing quite freely.

But and hour later there was a significant traffic queue stretching back along Great Charles Street. The volume of traffic was mainly heading for Smallbrook Queensway and the Bullring and Grand Central car parks as can be seen left. There was no queueing in the opposite direction.
