Walkways from 11 Nov: City Centre to Broad Street

On Saturday 11 November, Fletchers Walk will be closed for demolition. But there is to be a new walkway through the Paradise development.

Looking at the construction site today, it is not easy to see how a safe walkway can be constructed in 7 days including this weekend.

Nevertheless, the official map released by Birmingham Connected showing suggested pedestrianĀ  walkways between the City Centre and Broad StreetĀ  has been published and is shown below.

As far as I can tell the only new route is the connection between Victoria and centenary square which, presumably, is part of the permanent development so is designed as suitable for cycling. Other marked routes seem to follow footpaths and unless shared paths are unlikely to suit cyclists.
