The Birmingham Community Safety Partnership, which works to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour, has decided to apply for a Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) for The City Centre.
This order is now at the consultation phase, which will conclude on Sunday 11th November 2018.
The order seeks to impose restrictions on activities which are likely to have a detrimental effect on the quality of life of those in a central location of Birmingham.
These activities include:
- Anti-social behaviour caused by groups of people or individuals in public spaces
- Verbal abuse
- Threats or use of violence
- Street Drinking
- Loitering and obstructing highways or footpaths
- Urinating and defecating in communal areas and public spaces
