Just Anounced! Broad Street Closure Blocks Granvile and Sheepcote Street’s Rat Run

The Midland Metro Alliance has issued the notice below of the intended closure of Broad Street for Metro works between Sheepcote Street and Berkley Street from Monday 23 March.
This news was circulated to interested parties on Saturday 21 March. No re-opening date has been stated.

I took the photo below today (Saturday 21 March 2020). This is Broad Street viewed from Granville street. This is the area of Broad Street that will be closed, so Sheepcote Street and Granville Street traffic will not be able to cross Broad Street.

Yes I know. It was never closed in spite of the official notification from Midland Metro Alliance that I published above. I’m afraid this sort of thing happens occasionally with MMA – a forced change of plan I assume.
I’ll try to get some information from them.

Passed this section on the way to Sainsburys today. The Metro works have near-stopped and this section of road is still open.
