Taking my allowed exercise walk today I came across a new family of Canada Geese exploring Gas Street Basin.
They certainly know who is the boss as the chicks led the exploration of the area while the parents followed faithfully and calmly.
This is so different from the months of territorial squabbles that one is made aware of by the sight of the nesting birds waving their heads from side to side and up and down.
More peace-disturbing is the unceasing honking and screeching – they are determined to drive the other birds off.
But for now all is family peace and tranquillity, so nice to see in these troubled times.
