Chamberlain Square Wraps Off At Last!

The wraps came off the new square this week after a mysterious delay.

The square disappeared for years during the demolition of Paradise starting in 2015, followed by the construction of two new buildings- One and Two Chamberlain Square.

Chamberlain Square itself having been completed was cordonned off with railings for several months and opened at last this week. The reason for the long delay is unknown but no changes were appaen during the delay.

Now this gem of a square is usable by the Birmingham people.

Number One Chamberlain Square was completed during 2019 and handed over to the current office residents accoutancy firm PwC (Price Waterhouse Coopers) on 21 November 2019.

Number Two Chamberlain Square was completed around the middle of 2019 and is currently unoccupied.

Thomas Attwood is sitting on the steps adjacent to the rear of the Town Hall. Joseph Priestly and James Watt, the two other statues, were last reported as being in storage.
Perhaps we should write to Kath Hartley and ask why they haven’t been reinstated?

It looks lovely. But where are the statues, especially Joseph Priestley my Children’s great x 4 uncle.
