The future development of the Metro tram system is organised differently from the Snow Hill to Grand Central one which opened on 30 May 2016. Further extensions to the existing network will be of great benefit to West Midlands folk and visitors and should encourage new business investment in the region.
Midland Metro Alliance might just have faced reality in forecasting a date for the trams to restart. But the date is not what we wanted!
This barrier will have to be removed on Monday 4th Apri to enable testing of the extension upto 54 Hagley road to commence.
The Express & Star reports that an independent review is to be set up into the West Midlands tram failures. Let’s hope that this provides an early solution and does not uncover more problems or lead to even more delays in providing the service. You can view the article here.

After almost 3 months of non-running for track replacement, the service ran for a day but is again suspended for 4 weeks. A previous problem seems to have recurred – that of cracks in the trams.
No, unfortunately this is not a tram in Bull Street about to continue its journey to New Street Station and on to Centenary Square.
