Overnight the Council Workers Poured the Tarmac to Fill the Holes
No, unfortunately this is not a tram in Bull Street about to continue its journey to New Street Station and on to Centenary Square.
Although the track appeared to be completed yesterday, no passengers have yet ridden along the re-laid track.
But testing of the track is in progress according to the Midland Metro Alliance website.
The astounding news is that the track appears to be complete. Only a few pavement areas are unfinished.
Clearly testing has to be completed before trams can operate with passengers again.
A construction worker I talked to was of the opinion that this would be next week.

Time is short for completion of the new Metro track in October as stated in the Metro Alliance website. Work is continuing 24/7 so hopefully we shall soon have our superb tram facility back working again.

The Edgbaston Village created a festive atmosphere added to by the impressive period architecture of the Calthorpe Estate dating back to 1807. This provided a super stage for the craftsmen and craftswomen to show off their creations.

Thousands lined the city centre streets today to enjoy the spectacle and atmosphere of the annual Birmingham Pride Parade.
Broad Street changes led by the new Metro Tram are nearing completion.
Buses and general traffic have been rerouted progressively during this construction process.
Now Traffic Regulation is required to support necessary restrictions to enable the changes to operate well.

Advice issued by Midland Metro Alliance…
“We are pleased to inform you that the breaking out concrete works [removal of original concrete track base] have been completed today…
28 August progress:
– steel rails inserted into the precast concrete blocks
– concrete poured in between the blocks up to the brown gravel in the middle of the following view.

Gratitude is a spectacular public art display, currently in Chamberlain Square, which honours and pays tribute to the ongoing courage and dedication of NHS Staff.
It is a colourful display of sculptures which is pleasing to both grown ups and children.
Entrance is Free and is officially by ticket but yesterday (Sunday) a ticket was not needed and there were no queues.
